Last week I attended the launch of the new TRESemme Keratin Smooth Hair Care Collection - Created for women with unruly, frizz prone hair. Tresemme Keratin Smooth is infused with keratin to transform your hair to be smoother straighter and easier to style.
What is Keratin? A fibrous protein forming the main structural constituent of hair, skin and nails. Hair is up to 90% keratin and "keratin bundles" form the internal structure of each strand. But hair styling, processing, colouring time and daily life depletes keratin and stresses hair. The result for many consumers is hair that's frizzy and unruly.
New Tresemme Keratin Smooth is low in sulphates. Sulphates are used in most shampoos for their cleansing properties and help the formula lather during use. Personally the fact that it is low in sulphates is great! I have long hair and when a shampoo is too "foamy" and ends up taking forever to rinse out and not actually cleansing my hair it can be a bit of a pain. The low sulphate formula will gently cleanse hair while protecting it from stripping out the hairs' natural nutrients. It is also not a professional keratin treatment, so it can be used after salon treatments as there are no ingredients in the range that will reverse the effects of your treatment. It is gentle enough for colour treated hair and protects hair from damage caused by styling appliances.
TRESemme Keratin Smooth promises an instantly smoother style and frizz control that lasts up to 48 hours. Shampoo and conditioner come in 750ml bottles cost R78.99. The bottles are rather big, but personally I prefer it as I don't use much of either when I wash my hair and I find it much more cost effective. Both smell amazing and have great texture to them. Tresemme recommend you apply each and use for 2-3 minutes before rinsing.
The Keratin Smooth Deep Treatment Masque R64.99 comes in a 300ml tub and is my favourite! The masque is infused with keratin and contains silicones and deep conditioning ingredients that replenish each strand for salon smooth hair. It has a great silky texture and you only need to apply a small amount at the end of the 3-step cleansing process. It can be used weekly and is advised to be left on for 3-5min. Still deciding if I will use it weekly or every second week.
My review of the TRESemme Keratin Smooth Range.
I have curly/wavy hair. Over the years I have lost a lot of the curl, unless I swim in the sea and leave it to dry naturally. So generally it ends up wavy. It is also long and fine, so it is prone to frizz, especially in winter when it is wet outside! I mainly leave my hair to dry naturally of blow-dry it. I struggle with the middle back section of my hair as it is most exposed and ends up getting fluffy, dry or frizzy. I struggle to find a product to help combat frizz without ending up with oily, limp hair. I have to say I am totally impressed and in love with these 3 products!
Before and after pictures - concentrating on the middle back section of hair
Before - My hair is fluffy and frizzy at the back and it tends to be 'uneven' with the rest of my hair. (major sad face).
After - I have washed my hair twice with the Tresemme Keratin Smooth shampoo and conditioner, the second time I used the masque. I found that using all 3 products helped a lot. I generally blow-dry my hair in winter and then plait it (what else do you do with long hair???).
I don't use a blow-dry brush, I simply run my fingers through my hair when I dry it and then use my tangle teezer hair brush after. I found that my hair was actually a lot easier to manage when drying it and look........ It looks a lot smoother, sleeker and frizz free! I kid you not :)
As this is only the middle section of my hair, the thing I liked the most was that I still had my natural wave, except it was more controlled and sleeker. My favourite part is that my hair was actually fuller and had more volume! Often long, fine hair can end up looking like rats tails. I am going to continue using this product as it really works for me!
I would love to hear to hear your thoughts on the new TRESemme Keratin Smooth Hair Care Collection Please let me know what you think and if you use it how it worked for you :)

Review by: Saturday Girl SA
Thank you to TRESemme and Gullan&Gullan for a fantastic launch and night out at Madame Zingara
I am not sure what it is. Last week in yoga I felt weak, off centre and lacking concentration Since that class i have had a really rough week emotionally and I sometimes find I lack that feeling of being centred and grounded. On Saturday night after dinner at the boyf place, I pulled out my yoga mat and did a 30min session to try clear my head.
It made me realise, often your body is telling you something. I think because of all the emotions lately, I have worn myself out. Trying to fit in , gym , exercise, social, varsity, etc etc when I am basically running on empty. The 30min was great to shift focus and calm myself. I will definitely start doing more home sessions when my body tells me that it needs to. Most importantly, I will start doing things for me.

I am obsessed with Free People clothing, the whole look is boho and totally my vibe! I love the clothes, accessories and lookbooks.

I have been back at yoga for awhile but I have not blogged about it in ages!!!! So here we are, back on for Yoga Monday's. I am hugely inspired by Miranda Kerr. I recently read her book Treasure Yourself. Filled with lots of positivity and lots of self worth. I really like her healthy, positive outlook and attitude towards life. The book is also filled with positive affirmations and some great tips for keeping yourself on the up. She also happens to be super good at yoga and has the body to prove what yoga can do!
I am obsessed with seashells. They are all over my rooms and I have a collection that I try keep going. If ever I go away, or to the beach I try and find some rare beauties to add to my obsession. This beauty was found on the beach in Arniston. I decided I wanted to get a hole put into it so I could use it as a pendant. But wait!!! When I got home and cleaned it up.....it had a perfect hole already in it! So basically it was meant to be :)
I love this shell because it is so detailed. It has swirls of pink in it and it is has ridges and bumps all over it. I love things that are so far from perfect and have character. Such a lucky find!

How incredible is this place? A surrealist garden created by poet Sir Edward James who was a big supporter of the surrealist movement. The garden was created in 1949 with staircases to nowhere and massive concrete flowers. It is located in a tropical jungle in Mexico and it stretches over 80 acres!!! I wish I lived here! Incredible.

This past weekend the boyf spoilt me with a trip to Arniston. By far my favourite place on the
coast. We have been a few times with friends and Neil spent many of his childhood holidays in Arniston. Both of us have a big love for this place. I think it must be one of the few coastal towns that is still completely undeveloped and still maintains that sleepy coastal charm.
Loads of white houses with thatched tops cover the coast line and over look the gorgeous turquoise and blue sea. No shops, no crazy city panic. Just calm and bliss. We have been planning this trip for a long time and to be honest it was so needed. I feel very spoilt and lucky to have had a nice break. I kind of feel like I have thrown myself into keeping busy for fear of stopping and thinking too much. A loss is not something you get over.
Usually if Neil and I do a trip I send my dad all the pictures and fill him in on the daily events. Although he did not live near the sea my dad loved the ocean and walking on the beach. We were lucky enough to have sunny weather even though it was chilly and cold, we still swam in wetsuits. It is always very therapeutic to be by the ocean and walk on the beach. We walked a lot. Not a soul in sight., untouched sand and pure silence through the dunes and on several empty hidden beaches. I love Arniston because I think it's like a mini Mediterranean and I image that some sleepy Greek island looks like this.
I have these weird moments of guilt when I enjoy life or something too much. I feel bad my dad is not here to enjoy things like this because I know that he would have loved it so much. Now I hope that he heard my words to him as I walked with Neil and looked so intensely at everything in the hope that he could see them too.
I am so grateful that I got to go away with the boyf. He is truly the most loving, patient and caring person I have ever met. He is always by my side to hold me, make me feel safe and love me even if I ugly cry.
On a happier note, here are some beautiful pictures from our walks and adventures. A dreamy place that if I could I would go back every single weekend.

Be kind, be gracious, be grateful, be loving, be calm.
Open your eyes and your heart to all the beauty we have surrounding us.
Be forgiving, be caring, be gentle on yourself.
Stop, turn your face to the sun, moon and stars...
and hold all memories close and dear.
Never forgotten.
Memories made with those who are gone and those that are still here.
So grateful.
