Since my parents live in JHB I don't get to see them as often as I would like to sadly, but when one of them come to visit it makes me appreciate them even more. My dad is down for the weekend and I have not seen in for several months so I got my Christmas present, a cute globe with my name in it. (my dad gives me a Christmas ornament every year) and my birthday gift, amazing soap from Crabtree and Everlyn (best smell, juniperberry and vetiver) and of course, an Easter present of chocolate (my family know me so well) delicious chocolate truffles from Geldhof chocolatiers and a very cute, edible Easter bunny ! Very spoilt and very lucky to have some family time!
I love this video. If you have ever danced or appreciated ballet and movement, you will enjoy this. It's also beautifully shot and I love the ritual that each dancer has when it comes to her own pair of pointe shoes.
I took this picture on Sunday while I was on the beach. So it is not exactly a faceless portrait but this is my interpretation of it and I think it kind of works, you cant see my whole face. So I think it kind of counts :)
As you can see this is my version of technology. My desk is my in my room as I share a flat with two other people, so this is where I work, study and blog from. Now that I am back at varsity I had to unearth my printer as it's turning into a very vital and much needed piece of technology in my studies! If you look behind my laptop, you can see my trusty hard drive! and lets not forget the good old blackberry.
I got very spoilt this weekend! On Sunday the boyf and I decided it was time for an adventure away from the city. We started out Sunday off by going to the beach, the boy surfed while I had a really relaxing time on the beach just letting go of the past few weeks and taking in all the beauty around me. we then decided at the last minute to head out to Stellenbosch. Armed with very good reviews from my friend Darryn we made our way to Hillcrest berry farm. Yes it was a million degrees but it was seriously beautiful to be outside and enjoy a fantastic lunch! On the way home we stopped at Delaire wine estate for some wine tasting! First time I have done wine tasting on the stellies wine route. Such an incredible view, sticky hot weather and amazing wine made a perfect recipe of relaxation and enjoyment on a random Sunday afternoon. Very spoilt! I recommend if you get a chance, take a break and head out for the day :)
I love this! If your not a fan of hanging all your jewellery on display, then this nifty at home DIY egg box holder is great. Especially if you have little earrings, bracelets or hair clips that end up lying all over the place. This is a fun easy way to store things without going and spending a fortune on stands or racks. Best part you can decorate it and make it look all pretty :)
I bought these really cute earrings for Mr Price. Nine pairs for R40.00 is really impressive in my eyes! I love them because they have fantastic designs, shapes and colours, I really like changing my earrings often and having a variety to choose from. So that's my something new!
I have a lot of really awesome childhood memories so it was really hard to pick only one. I love these three pictures because each of them hold a memory that stands out. I remember my third birthday (left) and the awesome mini mouse cake and the pretty little dress I wore. It's weird how some things stick out in your mind. The top picture reminds me of holidays with my folks at a place called the Blue Marlin and they had this epic pool at the hotel and my dad would spend hours playing with me in the pool. The bottom picture is at my grandparents house. They have these green chairs around the kitchen table and I am so sad that they gave them away when they moved, I think they are pretty retro. I always remember going to my gran and eating, she always made my favourite Lebanese dishes and I always finished everything on my plate :) Your childhood is something so special and it aids in your future and how you remember things in your past. I feel very lucky to have good memories and even though I am an only child I never felt alone.
Consol Solar Jar
Today at the Desing Indaba I came across these insanely awesome solar jars made by Consol Glass.
I have heard about them a lot lately and I am dying to get my hands on some! I am a huge fan of candles and out door lighting, the solar jar offers a safe, easy and incredible green way of using light. What makes it light up? the solar powered LED lights inside the jar, with a solar panel in the lid, so when you leave it in direct sunlight it charges the panel and you can have up 6 to 9 hours of beautiful light from these special jars.
If your an avid camper or enjoy outdoor functions and events, these jars are safe and complete reusable and rechargeable as well as recyclable.
Great for dinner parties, braai's and events such as birthdays and venues. The jars create a very unique way of decorating lighting without the fuss and with all the safety.
You can order online :http://www.solarjar.co.za/ (retail price R120)

I love this picture because it is not actually posed. And this is someone I love dearly along with my family and friends and I feel fortunate to have a very special kind soul in my life like Neil.
I took this picture of Friday night as the sunset on Clifton 2. Ok, so it's not one sold colour....... but it is still my favourite set of colours all as one ;) I promise! Soft blue sky and dusty orange and white all together it makes for something pretty amazing!
