DIY DEMIN SHORTS

I am currently on a bit of a mission to try make use of all the clothing in my cupboard, mainly due to lack of finances for a whole new wardrobe. So I decided to attempt some DIY. I really like this pair of jeans as they sit nice and high around the waist but I found the calf part to not fit very well so I decided to make them into shorts (not sure if I am brave enough to wear them out and about, maybe with  black stockings underneath, I am not a massive fan of showing too much skin)

I found a great "How To" video on refinery29 (see link for instructions)

All you need:
Ruler
Chalk
Pins
Cotton
scissors
and another pair of shorts to measure against the pair you want to make :)

Yay I finally figured it out! After watching and on line tutorial and endless fiddling I can now actually do something fun with my long hair! It really is a fun plait that looks great for a beach trip or can be glam for a night out. Either way it is proving to be a life saver in this heat! shoooo! No more sticky feeling, hair is happy and so am I ;)

This week is proving to be a pretty busy one, so no  complaints on my side when I got an e mail from the Fantastic Bacardi team saying the would like to send me a gift! Thank you so much for the fantastic present. (delivered to my door!!!) A gorgeous wooden triangle lamp (I really needed one!) A big bottle of Bacardi (lots of birthdays this weekend, so reason to celebrate) An essential bottle of coke and a lemon (yeehhaa :) ) I love the packaging and the concept! Most of all I love that I got a gift out that made my week! Thanks guys!

I was lucky enough to accompany the lovely miss safashiongirl to a launch for the new Puma bag by French  designer Sakina M'sa.
M'sa has partnered with Puma on this clever concept of taking workers blue overall, recycling them and turning them into stylish gorgeous Grip Bags, while paying homage to French workers. A 100 limited edition Grip Bags are available and truly beautifully constructed and designed. Sakina's company offers work opportunity to the unemployed and  was one of the recipients of the 2010 Social Entrepreneur Award.

Thank you safashiongirl for taking me as your date :)
