A lifestyle blog - Its a jumble from my world a bit of everything - loves, likes, lists.

This morning I did a 6:30am Yoga class and when I walked out the gym felling rather tired and a bit stressed (lots on my plate) I raced to my car to get out of the cold and while reversing out of the parking this is what I saw. Beautiful right?

I guess this day, month or week may not be going according to plan...but I am sure, well  I hope! That it works itself out somehow and all this stress and anxiety to varsity will fade away. Its hard sometimes to keep believing in yourself, but I guess you have to keep on and every so often remember that you live in a beautiful place and are more blessed than you know.

Our next location was Steenberg Vineyard, situated just off Steenberg Road in Tokai, this little gem is right here in our beautiful city. We started out at the gorgeous bar inside and sipped on 6 delicious wines while relaxing and enjoying the beautiful view of the rolling hills and mountains. It was rather busy and the atmosphere was relaxing and refreshing. The gorgeous interior is so inviting and the selection of wines is beautiful .
We had the choice of two wine tastings: We went for option one.

Next up was Spanish Tapas at the Restaurant Bistro sixteen82 we had a very early booking so we went for a stroll around the beautiful gardens before indulging ourselves in the Delicious tapas that were incredible value for money, not to mention so tasty and filling!

If your ever stuck for things to do in Cape Town I strongly suggest you take a look at what is close by and affordable. There are so many wonder places.

Feel very spoilt and very lucky to have shared this lovely Saturday with a special person who is my biggest supporter and listener. So nice to spend time together doing something different from the normal routine. Very lucky to have a spoilt weekend and most of all I feel lucky to have awesome memories to go along with these beautiful locations.

This past weekend we went camping. Possibly one of my favourite things to do and it was so nice to get out of CT, chill with friends, braai and bond :) There is something magical about camping, maybe it's the whole outdoor, nature vibe or the thought of a mini holiday. We got up early, packed the car and hit the road with Naked & Famous blearing on the radio. Perfect sunny skies and gale force winds could not kill the excitement. The weekend away was organised by birthday girl (lady in pink) Jess. So off a dozen of us trekked to Palmiet, about an hour and a half out of CT, with a beautiful coast along the way.

On Arrival the wind was blowing insanely but that did not stop us from setting up a lovely camp site. I was really impressed with the site, we had three plots to cover, three braai's and plenty of space for cars and tents. After Camp was set up and everyone arrived we went for a walk along the beach and river. It is truly a beautiful, rugged place that is so untouched. After getting a little lost and doing some serious climbing through bushes, we all headed back to camp for a chilled afternoon. The rest of the day consisted of banter, boys getting seriously sunburnt, afternoon naps, chips, beer and the boys starting the braai. Neil introduced me to these brilliant little things called braai packs. Simple, take foil add onion, garlic, sweet potato, butternut and spices. Pack into the foil wrap well and let it cook on the braai, (IT IS LIFE CHANGING)
After a good dinner we proceed to play the most legend mind game, know as "The Village" (long story).

Sleep sadly was limited due to the mad wind, which was a little scary at times! Early morning, some with hangovers, some with heat stroke, the rest eager to hit Kogelbaai (Koolbaai) and rock the surf and sun, we packed up and started making our way to kogelbaai. Starving, we stopped and got some freshly made croissants just outside of Betty's Bay and stopped at Roi Els (last beach pic) to admire the pure beauty of the ocean. Sadly along the way my tyre blew out, minor tantrum, tears and general throwing of items, resulted in a calm boyfriend and two very kind locals who helped (lesson learnt). FInally we made it to Kogelbaai, no pics were taken because I was so busy swimming in the sea, laughing and applying insane amounts of sunblock.
All in all, a winner weekend :)

After a very hectic turbulent year, with lots of tears and drama, laughter and smiles, losing friends gaining new ones, coming to some heard realisations, saying goodbye to lots of special people through out the year, finishing college, coping with a multitude of things and learning a lot about myself and others, the best way to stop and realise how much I have to be grateful for was a trip up Table Mountain.

Yip I have lived in Cape Town for 11 years and never been up! As luck would have it every time I have wanted to go up, there has been the weather problem, bad organisations etc etc! So Imagine the excitement when I got given a surprise! A trip up Table Mountain. Standing in the line I felt like a real tourist in my own home city. The trip up the cable car makes you realise the sheer magnitude of the beautiful mountain, the construction of the cable car and the slick impressive way the whole operation is run.

So it turns out I witnessed something truly amazing. The beautiful blanket of could chilling over the Camps Bay side of the mountain. Its breath taking and spectacular. Sitting in this gorgeous quiet splendor I took a moment to reflect on this year. I am without a doubt a truly blessed young women. While so many people we know are sick with illness, have suffered great loss, gone through things worse than us, we forget to reflect on the good things that we have an revel in the gratitude. Through the hardship this year I realised that there are some amazing people in my life, who have supported me, been there and given my both strength and faith in myself. The people in your life should be there for you at your worst to be able to experience you at your best and mine truly have. So sitting on top of the world I took a moment, a moment to be grateful for all that I have and all that I have been given, for my friends , family, people who have joined me in my life this year, people who have inspired me, opportunities that I have been given and faith and hope that I have restored in myself.

We live in a beautiful country and an unbelievable place, full of life and opportunity, I sat on top of the world breathed in Cape Town and all its beauty and breathed out all that has gone on this year. Big puffy clouds and sparkling sunlight on the ocean might not be able to solve world piece and take away all the drama of life, but it did make me stop and think. It was indescribable beauty!

No matter what we go through in this life we will come out of it, better, stronger, wiser and ready to take on anything.
