A lifestyle blog - Its a jumble from my world a bit of everything - loves, likes, lists.

  • I can be far too trusting. Not always a bad thing, not always a good thing, maybe even my own fault for assuming everyone has my feelings and interests at heart, the lesson here is to realise trust is earned by people in your life. Those who you can trust actually care about you, and I mean really care about you.
  • Let it go, stop worrying so much.
  • Understand that your not the only one who goes through a rough time, other people do too.
  • Best sometimes to be silent, silence really is golden
  • Think before you talk.
  • Be more patient......
  • Be less defensive.
  • Be more appreciative.
  • Admit when you are wrong, learn from it. Don't be stubborn.
  • Don't give up, ever. Something if not everything is worse fighting for.
  • Make mistakes but really and truly start learning from them.
  • When one thing goes wrong everything else naturally follows, and that's OK. There is light at the end of the tunnel always.
  • Have a little faith, faith and hope are going to help in almost every situation.
  • Let your friends, family and loved ones know how much you appreciate them.
  • Don't assume the worst
  • Let go of your phone, it doesn't rule your life.
  • Not everyone will like you, want to be your friend or care how you feel or think, and that's ok too.
  • Toxic people are going to drain you, so don't compromise space for them in your life simply, politely put them in your toxic box and make sure you handle yourself and them with a gas mask on ;)

On Sunday we went for a mini hike to this incredible waterfall in Houtbay. Literally at the top of a suburb is this incredible path that leads to a slice of pure beauty and heaven! Sadly in summer its all dried up. But so truly lovely to experience such beautiful scenery and paradise so close to homes and a city.

The weekend before last my dad was down in Cape Town. Sadly he lives in JHB so I don't get to see him often but I really and truly enjoy having time with him when he is here. He always makes an effort and plans something special. So on the Sunday he took his girlfriend and I too Clos Malverne in Devon Valley. We had an incredible four course lunch ( I added an extra food photo of my dads meal) and spent the day chatting and catching up. Its always nice to be out and about with family and to experience a beautiful place and incredible food.

At the boyfs house while he packs for his surf trip in indo! SO jealous! Off he goes to warm water and sunshine for 14 days and I sit in the cold! GRUMP
I am using his e net and wifi because sadly, currently I don't have any! (My luck)

I own a blackberry, but lately my blackberry hates me. So I have been using a spare phone as well as my temperamental blackberry. The cool thing about this, I have discovered Instagram which is pretty cool! i follow some awesome people and I really like that everyone can feel like a photographer and edit pics that they love with different filters. Hopefully my blackberry with be fixed soon because I cannot really afford the up keep of a an android to be perfectly honest the apps are far too money chowing for a student budget. But I did get to use the andriod, it's not a fancy phone but non the less it had instragram and I got to use it and when in wifi zones uploaded it! So, here is my average attempt at instagram before I return to my blackberry (which doesn't have instagram ...booo)

This past week has not been the greatest and by Wednesday I was feeling pretty over run and panicked. When my friend Kristi, who is an aspiring photographer (she starts her studies soon) suggested we do a fun little test shoot at the beach I could not say no. The beach is my saving grace, so in winter I am not really able to go, mainly due to the freezing cold weather! But on Wednesday the
hazy cold had lifted by the afternoon and we found ourselves strolling down to Clifton.

Being on the beach with not a soul in sight, hearing the roaring ocean and smelling the salty air for me, is the best way to let go of all the things plaguing my mind and allow myself to really just relax.
Kristi is possibly the most beautiful, strong person I have ever met. A true friend that I value and trust. I always feel like after I see her my spirits have been lifted and my head clearer.

I have full faith that Kristi will do well in photography and I like that she took these snaps of me while we just chatted and laughed. We had to wait for that golden afternoon light that really gives Clifton beach that warm glow. Kristi kept these pictures natural, which I love! I am no model and over the years have tried to become more accepting of myself and realise it's not about looks it's about who you are as a person. I wanted to share these pictures because they are captured in the mood and were fun to do, also because I know Kristi will grow from strength to strength on her new venture and I hope to share more of her work here on my blog.

thanks kris :)

Remember theses!!! So cheesy but I still, as an adult want a bedazzler! I love Cheesy bedazzled phone covers and those corny T-shirts! I am sure you can find them at CNA in the kids section! Definitely need to invest in one for some clothing DIY.
