Yay I finally figured it out! After watching and on line tutorial and endless fiddling I can now actually do something fun with my long hair! It really is a fun plait that looks great for a beach trip or can be glam for a night out. Either way it is proving to be a life saver in this heat! shoooo! No more sticky feeling, hair is happy and so am I ;)

Without a doubt the most beautiful clothing. Elie Saab is renowned for his beautiful, feminine clothing. This is my favourite Couture designer. I especially love the necklines and colours.

As much as I love nail polish, I am the worst when it comes to applying it! Here is a very simple, helpful guideline!

The last few days in Cape Town have been incredibly hot! And as always we complain that its "not hot in December and surely it was hotter this time last year?" (utter rubbish) and every year we seem surprised when January rolls around and we are practically baking day and night (not that I am complaining) So today when my friend Colette invited me for a swim I was not about to say no! Lets face it, a swimming pool with a floating device on a summer day is heaven. (Even thought the water was bath water temperature)

I love Rachel Bilson's style. She is always snapped out and about looking casual, chic and relaxed. Her wardrobe staples are an example of what is important to have in  your own wardrobe.

  • several pairs of jeans, like dark, skinny and boyfriend cut that can easily be paired with
  •  well fitted blazer
  • basic T-shirts in grey, white and black
  •  statement handbag in bold colour and size to add more to a casual outfit
  • boots and pumps in black, nudes and brown go easily with all outfits and are great for winter if your not into wearing boots
  • cardigans are a great light-weight, easy to use and handy for cool evenings fashion item
  • maxi dress in soft colours can be layered up or down for winter
  • shirts with details such as a big bow or a different neckline add more to a plain formal shirt
And of course, a fantastic pair of sunglasses that make the outfit complete.

My friend Darryn bought this for me for Christmas. It is a winning mug because it reminds me I am as strong as those things and more, but some days it's ok not to be strong and if need be, call up your friends. They are there for you because they care for you!

Chilled Beach Vibes

Chilled Beach Vibes by natalie-918 featuring studded shorts

Today I discovered Polyvore! Possibly the coolest site to put together your own favourite looks and mood boards. So today I got stuck in and designed the above board which I love!

This is basically a look that perfectly describes my style. I am not a lazy dresses I just absolutely love casual feel clothing. I am currently obsessed with bright colour Nixon watches! It is a great fashion accessory and a must for summer. Vests, what is not to love about vests? Grey is essential, classic cool and can be dressed up or down. Denim shorts are even cuter with these awesome studs which are easy do to DIY style. Vans are currently another obsession, I am dying to own a pair of these cute sneakers. They look particularly good in light pastel shades. I am a big fan of handbags and even more so in this gorgeous navy colour which is very versatile and can go with day and night wear. I really enjoyed making this fashion board of my favourite styles. Get involved and get creative on http://www.polyvore.com/

What a way to start the year. Relaxed, surrounded by awesome people in the most beautiful location and my favourite place in Cape Town! Arniston. Beach swims, boys surfing, 30 seconds, braai's, community, seriously good laughs. Bliss. Oh and wearing yellow for the first time. :)
